Jezail rifles from Afghanistan.
The Jezail was a sniper rifle, built by Afghani fighters during the British invasions of the late 1800s.
Usually chambered in a massively powerful .75 caliber or even 20mm in some cases, this rifle could hit and kill a target accurately out to over 100 yards. Which, at the time trumped the British Brown Bess of the time.
The curved stock was used so that it could be slung under the arm and shot from Camel-back. Infact, John Watson from the Sherlock Holmes novels was shot by one of these when he was in the war.
