Short drop and a sudden stop

16 bore Flintlock Fowler.

Queen Anne, smoothbore flintlock pistol.
I believe this pistol was loaded from the breach, then actually had the barrel screwed into the action.  It slowed loading down, but made for a more accurate shot.
Also known as a coat pistol, because it was small enough to easily conceal within ones coat pocket.
